Billboard Music Awards 2022 telah mengumumkan daftar nominasi untuk ajang penghargaan musik tersebut. Dari daftar yang dirilis The Weeknd, Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo, Justin Bieber, dan Kanye West berhasil memimpin perolehan nominasi.
Dari 62 kategori, The Weeknd memperoleh 17 nominasi termasuk untuk kategori utama yaitu Top Artist, Top Male Artist, dan Top Hot 100 Artist.
Sementara itu, di posisi kedua ada nama Doja Cat yang masuk menjadi nomine di sejumlah kategori utama antara lain Top Artist, Top Female Artist, dan Top Hot 100 Artist. Kolaborasinya dengan SZA dengan lagu Kiss Me More bahkan masuk dalam sejumlah kategori salah satunya Top Viral Song.
Ada pula Justin Bieber, Olivia Rodrigo, dan Kanye West alias Ye yang masuk menjadi nomine di 13 kategori. Di kategori Top Artist, Olivia bakal bersaing dengan para musisi senior yang sebelumnya sudah pernah membawa pulang piala di antaranya adalah Taylor Swift, Drake, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, dan Doja Cat.
Billboard Music Awards 2022 rencananya akan digelar pada 15 Mei mendatang di Amerika Serikat dan disiarkan secara langsung melalui NBC.
